Introducing the Wildfinder ROAM Event Series!

The Wildfinder ROAM Event Series invites you to explore the wild beauty of our surroundings with a series of fun, non-competitive cycling adventures! Whether you're a seasoned rider or just looking to cruise through the great outdoors, each ride offers a chance to connect with nature and meet likeminded people. Ride at your own pace, bring some snacks and enjoy the sights along the way.

Event #1 - The Wildfinder River Roam - Sunday 9th February 2025

(total ride distance: 48km, total riding time: 3-5 hours. Mainly on cycle paths, with some road riding).

Follow the Remutaka Cycle Trail from our site at Kaitoke in Upper Hutt. Pass through the beautiful Pakuratahi Forest and Tunnel Gully, cycling through a tunnel (headlights provided!) making your way down to Maymorn and Te Marua. Here, the trail merges with the Hutt River Trail, as you follow the meandering river down the valley all the way until Seaview. From here, it's half on road, half on (new) cycle paths as you make your way around the Eastern bays all the way to Days Bay.

We'll have the bbq going with a sausage sizzle for you to relax and enjoy, along with one of our famous real fruit ice creams (or a slushie - your choice).

You'll also receive a discount voucher for future Wildfinder gear hire (bikes/kayaks/SUPs)

Event details:

8.15am - meet us at Wildfinder Days Bay (612a Marine Drive - at the dry end of the wharf!)

8.30am - our shuttle will depart to take you up to our Kaitoke site

9.30-10am - we will brief you on the route and get you set up on your choice of bike

**Enjoy the 48km route from Kaitoke, heading south to Days Bay following the Hutt River Trail (maps provided)

1-3pm - you’ve made it! Put your feet up and enjoy a sausage sizzle and a real fruit ice cream/slushie by the beach

- Shuttle from Days Bay to Kaitoke

- Mountain bike hire (upgrade to an eBike for only $20 extra pp)
