“We did the 6 day / 5 night cycle trip. A fantastic time. Each day brought different landscapes and atmospheres - day 1 was 10/10 and somehow it just got better from there!”
“Wildfinder’s organisation is exemplary and we thoroughly enjoyed the day. The tour is also very manageable and takes you through beautiful countryside. Tunnels and a suspension bridge round off the ‘adventure’. Highly recommended.”
“The team at Wildfinder were simply terrific. They made an impromptu trip easy! Moreover, they were professional and communicated well. The gear we rented was well maintained and the various services they provided were top notch. I can’t recommend them enough! Nga Mihi Nui!”
“We had the best time! Highly recommend. Our team of 7 people spend the morning of our Christmas work function biking to the lighthouse at Pencarrow. The team at Wildfinder were so helpful really went above and beyond. Thanks so much!!”

“One of the best days out in 2 years in New Zealand.
We had an absolutely brilliant day out on the Remutaka Cycle Trail Highlights Tour, courtesy of Wildfinder. Despite booking quite last minute, the customer service that we received from the team was fantastic”

Sustainability at Wildfinder
At Wildfinder, we’re all about encouraging guests to explore our amazing local environment in a sustainable way, promoting the eco-friendly transport of mountain bikes & eBikes. Behind the scenes, sustainability is at the forefront of what we do. Check out some of the actions we’re taking towards this initiative:
-

We Love Local
We use local caterers and accommodation, and all our staff live and work in the areas of the trail that we service. We love to support the community of both Eastbourne, and the wider Hutt Valley and Wellington areas: by offering donations, raffle prizes, special discounts for schools, charities & community groups.
-

Our Sites
We use rainwater collection systems at our sites, and provide recycling systems for our staff, guests and the general public to use. Our off grid Kaitoke site has been specifically designed & set up to minimise it’s impact on the environment, and runs on solar power.
-

Qualmark
We've been awarded a Silver Sustainable Tourism Award. Qualmark, New Zealand tourism's official mark of quality, independently evaluates tourism operators in New Zealand across 5 key areas: Health & Safety; Business Systems; Environment; People; and Community & Culture. This Sustainable Tourism Business criteria has been officially recognised by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council as being in line with the GSTC Industry Criteria.

The Tiaki Promise
We are proud to support the Tiaki Promise, a commitment to care for New Zealand, for now and for future generations. We teach our guests to care for land, sea and nature, treading (or rather, cycling!) lightly and leaving no trace.
'Tiaki' means to care for people and place. The Tiaki Promise is a way that everyone who lives and travels in Aotearoa can show their commitment to looking after it. You can read more about the Tiaki Promise here, or scroll down.
-

Low Carbon Acceleration Fund
With the help of Hutt City Council, purchasing an vehicle to service our bag transfers, tours and rescue missions, instead of our current diesel fleet.

Tourism Sustainability Commitment
We have now signed up to this program, developed by Tourism Industry Aotearoa. The vision is to work towards twelve Commitments across the four elements of tourism sustainability: Economic, Visitor, Community and Environment. You can read more about it here.
